Licences to fish and hunt are mandatory in Ontario. They may be purchased from most sporting good stores, tourist operators, and the Ministry of Natural Resources District Offices. Hiking Trails and Provincial Parks
There is a wide variety of walking paths and hiking trails available for casual day excursions or more challenging backpacking adventures. Trails can be found in the Provincial Parks in Rainbow Country, Conservation areas, adjacent to lodges, resorts, campsites and towns, or simply on their own. So lace up some comfortable boots and make tracks! Remember... Take only pictures; Leave only footprints.

Crown Land Camping
Non-residents of Canada, 18 years of age and older are required to obtain a permit to camp on Crown Lands in the area north of the French and Mattawa Rivers. The fee is $10 Cdn. per person, per day. You can purchase the pass at any park office, anywhere they sell fishing licences or at District Ministry of Natural Resources offices. Non-residents who are guests of Ontario tourist establishments or Provincial Parks do not need a permit.
